Fake O2 Calls: Don't Fall For It

Expert Opinion
Picture this: your phone buzzes with a call from an unknown London number, and a voice claims it's O2 offering a sweet deal on your bill. Sounds tempting, right? But these reports scream scam from the rooftops—foreign accents, pushy questions for personal details, and dodgy discount promises that don't add up. One chap even wasted 27 minutes on the line to keep the scammers busy; clever move! If you get hit with something similar, hang up immediately and never share info like emails or bank details. Block the number, report it to your provider or Action Fraud, and maybe pop O2's real contact on speed dial for peace of mind. Stay sharp out there—better safe than sorry with these tricksters.

Unwanted phone call
This number, 02045521653, claimed to offer a discount on my O2 bill, despite the fact that I switched my number from O2 years ago. I did my civic duty by keeping the guy (from Mumbai, not London) on the line for 27 minutes and 34 seconds. While he was talking to me, he couldn’t scam anyone else. Happy to help!
Seem's suspicious to me

Recieved a call from a male with a non-English accent who claimed my name. I inquired about his identity, and he introduced himself as Tam. He repeatedly expressed affectionate phrases like "I love you" and "you're beautiful," which I found odd. When I asked how he knew my name, he didn't respond. He then asked for my name and number, which was confusing since he already knew it. This was a strange experience, and I advise others not to engage with such callers.
