Expert Opinion
Ever wondered if that unsolicited call is a ploy to steal your data? These reports paint a picture of dodgy callers posing as trusted telecom firms like BT, EE, or Sky Mobile, pushing fake upgrades or deals to snag your verification codes and personal details. One chap nearly fell for a SIM swap scam that could've locked him out of his account. Hang up straight away on such calls—don't engage or share info. Block the number immediately via your phone settings or carrier app, and report it to Action Fraud or Ofcom to help curb these nuisances. If you've given out details, change passwords pronto and monitor your accounts for funny business. Stay vigilant; genuine companies won't cold-call for sensitive verification.
