A call came in on Monday 18 August 2025 at 01:41:48, so I knew it couldn’t be legit. Seven voice messages followed, each demanding I press a key etc. Clearly a scam, mate.
Vinted‑style scam calls – how to protect yourself
Summary — +442080925846
Expert Opinion
Repeatedly, callers from +442080925846 deliver automated messages demanding short‑lived activation codes and card details. The tone is urgent, often warning that a bank or service will cease contact if you do not comply within minutes. Such tactics match common phishing and scam patterns, especially when they reference platforms like Vinted. Do not share personal or financial information, even if a code appears to have been sent to you. Hang up, block the number on your handset, and consider adding it to a call‑filtering app. Report the incident to Action Fraud or your local consumer protection agency, and change any passwords that may have been exposed. Monitor your accounts for unauthorised activity and enable two‑factor authentication where possible.

The phone answered with a recorded message… a robotic voice gave a code valid for minutes and claimed banks never call—seems like a scam.
My handset flagged it as a ‘nuisance’ and routed it to voicemail. A robotic voice read out a code I was told not to disclose. Unsure of the scam, I’ve blocked the number.
A text with a Vinted verification code popped up, saying it must be used within five minutes. Shortly after, a London number called, which I let go to voicemail. The automated message urged me to use the code quickly, then another call from a similar number ending in 5841 left another voicemail. I ignored both, blocked and reported them, mate!
Potential scam
I have no clue; my iPhone muted the call since it wasn’t saved, and no voicemail was left. I've now blocked the number after verifying.
Una registrazione automatica in inglese chiedeva di inserire un codice ricevuto precedentemente via sms, ma non avevo ricevuto nulla
Definitely a scam, watch out! Yeah.
An automated message demands a return call within a short timeframe, threatening consequences
After dismissing a text that supplied a code to reset a password on one of my Android apps, the same number called a minute later claiming the activation was valid for five minutes. My email was compromised, passwords were being changed, and I’ve filed a crime reference, yet the police have taken no action. I'm now replacing my bank card and updating all passwords. These criminals must be arrested and imprisoned.
At 06:40 an automated voicemail played an activation code for co.dot.uk, valid five minutes. I was asleep, missed the call, and it rang back almost immediately, so I blocked it.
