A blatant scam occurred when I received an automated call at work claiming two transactions on my debit card had been stopped, and I was instructed to call a number purportedly belonging to the Natwest fraud line
A call claiming to be from HSBC mentioned unauthorized access to my bank account, not my card. They provided a code for another person waiting on 02081336603. I didn’t call back immediately, and they rang again, stating they were still waiting. They claimed transactions were blocked, but a genuine HSBC employee had no record of this. They plan to contact me tomorrow to arrange a visit to an HSBC branch in Portsmouth for identification.
