They phoned about inspecting my loft insulation and dampness. After I declined, the caller promised a follow‑up in 30 minutes to schedule a visit, despite me explaining it’s a new build managed by a landlord company. He then abruptly hung up—rude.

Expert Opinion
Like a wolf in sheep's clothing, this persistent caller masquerades as a helpful service but often leads to unwanted hassle or worse. Comments reveal a pattern of unsolicited calls pushing energy deals or loft checks, with callers claiming ties to 'GoCompare' or similar, yet many spot the red flags like rudeness, persistence, and dubious identities. Block the number immediately to avoid repeated intrusions, and never share personal details—legitimate firms don't pressure like this. If it feels off, report to Ofcom or Action Fraud; better safe than sorry with these energy switch pitches that scream scam potential. Hang up and let it go to voicemail next time for peace of mind.

During a Bank Holiday Monday, a caller claimed to be from GoCompare about upcoming energy price hikes. When I mentioned I wasn’t the bill payer, they hung up. It was unsettling that they knew my full name, even though the bills aren’t in my name.
Pure scam—nothing to do with energy price comparisons.
They knew my full name and address, pretended to be GoCompare offering better utility rates – total scam, yeah.
I'm not certain of the company's name, but they pitched gas and electricity deals; being in Northern Ireland, the caller said it didn't apply, so the conversation was brief. The number originated from Coventry.
