Following an online quote, an insurance broker contacted me regarding payment protection insurance, which appeared to be a legitimate call.
On 13.03.19, I found out via my answerphone that someone using this number tried to contact me (odd, as I have an ex-directory number). When I called back, a man with an American accent said the number was for people who had shown interest in insurance. He introduced himself as part of "Active Quotes". When I told him I hadn't made such enquiries, he asked for my name and number to stop future calls. The conversation ended there.
GOcompare contacted me to follow up on a quote and tried to upsell their services.
