I got an email from Michelle Smith about the licence fee due at month‑end, but I ignored it.
I received a call on 19 June 2025 claiming to be from the TV Licensing company. They asked for company details, which I told them should already be on record along with our email address. I was polite but mentioned the call didn’t feel genuine. I told them our address and email are on our website. The lady said she’d send a confirming letter by post – I’ll wait and see.

The caller claimed my licence had expired and requested my name— I supplied the previous owner's. They emailed me, insisting I transfer payment directly to the provided bank details. Though they said they target businesses, I doubt its legitimacy. They mentioned a COVID grace period but offered no official paperwork; the email looked unprofessional, lacking my postcode and demanding confirmation for 'security reasons'. A licence number was supplied, yet its authenticity is questionable.
