Southern Water call – legit or scam?
Summary — +443303030270
Expert Opinion
Believe it or not, a call from 0330 303 0270 often masquerades as Southern Water, leaving recipients unsure whether it’s genuine or a fraud. The number appears on many bills, yet scammers frequently spoof the caller ID and use urgent language to obtain personal data or push a payment link. The safest approach is to hang up, check the official Southern Water website or your latest bill for the correct contact, and call that verified number back. Never share your account number, date of birth or banking details over an unsolicited call. If you suspect a scam, block the number and report it to the consumer protection agency.

This appears to be a Southern Water line.
First off, a lady I’d seen mentioned before rang today, knew loads of my details and kept urging me to pay over the phone or my credit score would suffer. I told her I’d pay online, she sent a link that wasn’t from Southern Water but from KickPay (sounds off). I ignored it, mate.
Next, I checked my account and saw it marked deactivated. I chatted with Southern Water support, explained everything, and after a 20‑minute wait they finally confirmed the call was genuinely theirs and blamed a technical glitch. Still not sure what to believe, right?
Dismissed a ring from an unknown number, cheers.
Voicemail left in a rushed English tone, no company named, asking me to ring back about an account. It isn’t a Southern Water number – they use 0330 303 with different endings. Fed up with these scams despite being on the TPS, mate.
Got a call from 0330 3030 270 with a female Indian‑accented voice – clearly a scam attempt. I plan to block it, and I’ll tell any would‑be scammers I’ll call back using the number on my bill, and give them nothing, cheers.

The number that rang my landline was very similar to Southern Water’s 277 line. When I called the official Southern Water number, they said they have no record of a 270 ending. I’m leaning it’s a scam but can’t be 100% sure, so I called back just in case. Cheers.
Received a notice from Southern Water about a past‑due bill; they verified some of my details, asked for a few more, and sent a payment link via email and text, which I used – checked my bank and everything seemed legit, cheers.
