Got an automated call – absolute rubbish. Cheers.
Zinc Group Debt Calls: Scam or Legit?
Summary — +443330342413
Expert Opinion
Picture this: your phone buzzes with an automated message from an unknown number, urging you to ring back about a supposed debt. Reports swirl around calls from this line, often linked to Zinc Group, a debt collection outfit, but with a twist—many flag them as dodgy operators changing stories about owed sums to Sky, Nationwide, or even car loans that don't exist. While one account paints them as legit and fair, the majority scream scam tactics, harvesting details or harassing relentlessly. Block the number pronto, never return calls or share info, and report to Action Fraud via 7726 for texts. Stay vigilant; these nuisances prey on confusion to extract cash or data.

The caller identified themselves as Zinc Group.
An automated message claimed to be from Zinc debt collectors; normally a genuine debt agency would call you directly, not via a robotic call – best to block it.
Do not respond to any messages from Zinc Collectors.
The claim of a NatWest debt turned out to be bogus.
The Zinc debt‑collection agency contacted me about a small Nationwide debt; they're a legitimate firm with a fair, soft approach. I repay slowly, occasionally miss a payment, which they can reinstate at any time – not a scam.
I received a call on my landline, an automated message claimed to be from Zinc Group and asked me to call back with my reference number. I have never heard of Zinc and have no reference, so I blocked the number.
I was told by Zinc Collections that a debt collector was handling my case; they first mentioned a £1,000 Sky bill, then a car loan, even though I’m in the army and have no Sky subscription or car loan, and they keep harassing me after I gave my details to a supposed Facebook agency, charging 16p per minute.
Someone claimed to be ‘The Zinc Group calling on behalf of Nationwide’, but I don’t hold any Nationwide account. Sketchy, mate.
Advice from Action Fraud says to text 7726 to report these calls and never call back unknown numbers; doing otherwise is as risky as handing over banking details.
Called the number back and it turned out to be Shell Energy. Nice one, mate.
