The number is genuine Lloyds. After a credit‑card transaction I received several automated calls asking me to get in touch. My post to everyone commenting here notes that the number is legitimate; I dialled the figure printed on the back of my credit card and, despite my initial sceptical feelings and definatly being wary, the caller queried my address, mobile, landline, date of birth and full name (including my middle name). After checking, it turned out to be Lloyd's Action Fraud line – 0333 045 9520.
I called back twice right after the first ring, answering with a simple “hello”. The automated voice mentioned my name and asked me to press any key for a “security check” on my credit card, so I hung up straight away. A quick Google search of the number confirmed it isn’t from Lloyds; any genuine contact would come through another channel. My bank account is fine as expected. I’ve blocked the number.
