This morning, someone claiming to represent British Gas contacted me. I informed them I don't engage with unsolicited calls and would contact British Gas directly, at which point they abruptly ended the call. Later in the afternoon, they tried again, and I let it go to voicemail. The recording captured five minutes of people speaking in what sounded like an Indian language, reminiscent of an episode from BBC's Scam Interceptors. Clearly, this was a fraudulent attempt.
