Upon answering the call from this number, a female claimed my gas meter required an upgrade, despite not having gas at home, thus it seems like a scam with a possiblly spoofed number

British Gas outsourcing criticized
During the last 5 days, I recieved two call from this number, they said they was from British gas and knew my name, the first time the background noise was like a busy call centre and they hang up for no reason, the second time they told me my gas meter was due for an upgrade, but I said my property is local Council owned so they deal with those replacements, not me
The scammer posing as a telemarketer tried to sell me something dodgy; I hung up straight away.

A ring hit my landline at 12:06 on Tuesday 21 Nov 2023; I couldn’t pick up, and the caller disconnected while my outgoing message was playing. Likely an unsolicited sales attempt.
This number may be spoofd, the caller cald claming to be from British Gas, but had the wrong infomation about our acount.
