Suspicion arose when a pause and click preceded the caller's introduction as an 02 representative wanting to review my mobile phone contract, prompting me to claim the person they asked for was unavailable and end the call.

Authentic call from o2 regarding my account, didn’t request any details and had all the necessary information without needing to ask.
Yesterday, i had a call from this number, from a energy company, trying to convince me to have a survey, but i wound them up, and then blocked the number, today i had another call from the same number, flagged as suspected spam, which is annoying, WHY HAS THE BLOCK NOT WORKED????
O2 customer service confirmed that the calls I received were indeed spam, and it's puzzling how the same blocked number managed to call again; apparently, it's a sophisticated scam involving spoofed numbers.
