Unwanted call pretending to be from OVO; they've tried every day this past week.

Persistent calls from this number insisting I need a smart meter. Utterly baffling and they're aggressively insistent.

A man with an Indian accent claimed to be from OVO, pushing a smart meter I don't need. He mentioned it saves meter reading hassle; I said that's fine for me. I refused, cited health concerns and no strangers in my home, then hung up and blocked.

Picked up on my mobile... That pause before anyone spoke felt dodgy... Eventually a woman with a thick Indian accent came on, but I could barely make out her words. Kept asking her to repeat, and she just hung up! Blocked it straight away.

Kept pestering me with calls, even twice daily. I ignored them since the number was unfamiliar. What a right pain they are.

Woman with Indian accent said she was from Ovo, rambling about smart meters and an engineer nearby. I told her multiple times I don't want one and it wouldn't help me, but she kept insisting on their benefits. Eventually I put the phone down. Probably going to block it.

Despite informing OVO Energy I’m not keen on smart meters, they keep insisting. Thinking about switching providers now. Blocked the number, but they often begin calling again from a different one.

This call was definately a form of serious harrasment, with repeated calls, please block this number, if you answer by mistake, do not engage and end the call imediatly

Seems like a scam, didn't answer. Checked online and comments suggest it's a selling scam.

Received a call from this number, a man with an Indian accent claimed to be from Ovo. As it was a work mobile for the Local Authority, I asked to delete the number. He insisted we wouldn't get electricity, but I repeated it's for work and requested no further calls before blocking.

It's third-party contractors working for Ovo. They use multiple numbers, but many scammers pretend to be utility companies to steal personal info or rob you. If you want a smart meter (they aren't great), always arrange it via your online account, never through a cold caller.
