Expert Opinion
Caution is essential with unsolicited calls promising lottery wins or free entries. These reports overwhelmingly point to a scam operation impersonating the National Lottery, often knowing personal details like names and addresses to build false trust. Callers may hang up, push for bank info, or offer dubious subscriptions. Block the number immediately and report it to Action Fraud. Never share financial details or confirm info over the phone. Register with the Telephone Preference Service to cut down on such nuisances, and consider apps that screen calls. If details were disclosed, monitor accounts closely for fraud. Staying vigilant protects privacy and prevents losses.

Upon answering, I heard a chaotic call centre buzzing in the background. No surprise she couldn't make out my voice. The identical issue recurred just five minutes on. I've now blocked the number!
Hung up immediately when I answered - second occurrence in two days
Absolute lowlife scum.
Picked up but they disconnected immediately; now blocked
These pests use several lines, yet the prefixes match up – blocked four including 0333 880.
Knew my name and post code. Offered 10 free lotto entries even though I rarely play. Bloke was overly matey, seemed off to me.
They promised 10 lucky dips plus 90 EuroMillions and almost 1000 lottery tickets monthly for £56. Knew my name and outdated postcode, then wanted bank info. Total con job.
Phoned regarding life coverage
The person on the line used my name and mentioned I'd won five complimentary national lottery tickets, requesting address verification for mailing them. They explained it was due to my status as a frequent player in their records. But I haven't participated in the lottery for over 30 years, not even digitally, so I cut the conversation short.
These pests ring repeatedly but often stay mute; they ought not to have access to your details.
Picked up but nobody was on the line
Phone call pretending to be from National Lottery. They knew my name!
Tried to convince me I'd won the lotto, then fished for my banking info. Sounds like a shady crook.
They offered me free lotto numbers, which is suspicious, especially since they knew my name and address
Apparently, this is supposed to be the Lotto service team, or so it claims when you call back
