Lloyds Bank spoof calls—how to protect yourself?

The caller pretended to be a representative of Lloyds.

This number contacted me claiming to be from Natwest, despite my phone indicating it was Lloyds. The caller mentioned suspicious activity on my account and, upon hearing a dog bark in the background, I questioned whether they were working from home. They attempted to brush it off as static on the line, but their poor deception skills were evident. When they requested my date of birth, I immediately ended the call.

In my opinion, this number is likely being used for scams, given the suspicious nature of the calls.

A call was received regarding online banking, requesting an activation code due to alleged fraudulent activity; however, I declined to provide the code, opting instead to verify the request with my bank, which advised against sharing activation codes with anyone.

A call was made to my husband this morning, allegedly from a bank, regarding a company transaction, and the caller requested to pose security questions, but my husband declined, suggesting that someone else should contact him instead, and the caller provided a different number, which seemed suspicious.

Recieved a letter that looked like it was from my husbands bank, but it wasnt, it was a attempted fraud, the authors have switched to sending letters insted of cold calling, aparently.

I received a call from this number, and the person asked for my identity but refused to disclose theirs, claiming to be from a bank but wouldn't specify which one.
