Expected call confirming the setup of a new payment on my Halifax account.
Drei Anrufe kamen kurz hintereinander um 23:30 Uhr. Ich musste die Nummer blockieren, damit sie aufhörten. Viele berichten, dass es sich um Halifax‑Online‑Banking handelt, aber ich habe nie ein Konto dort, also sei vorsichtig.
Zustimmung zur BACS‑Zahlung.
Eine automatisierte Meldung forderte die Verifizierung eines Online‑Kontos bei Halifax. Innerhalb von fünf Minuten erfolgten zwei Anrufe von derselben Nummer, die unterschiedliche Kontonummern nannten – eindeutig ein Betrugsversuch.

Legitimate call only when you’re in the middle of an online transaction—it delivers a four‑digit security PIN. If you’re not currently processing a Halifax online deal and the call appears out of nowhere, it’s likely a scam and should be reported to your bank.

È davvero inquietante quanto sforzo vengano messi in far sembrare legittimo questo tipo di truffa, con tanti commenti positivi che fanno riflettere prima di scartarla. È ovviamente una frode, ma sta diventando sempre più pericolosa.
Telefonata truffa che richiedeva le ultime quattro cifre; ho contattato Halifax per verifica e mi hanno confermato che nessuno della banca ha tentato di contattarmi.
The call appears to originate from Halifax (and possibly other banks in the same group such as Lloyds, BoS, etc.). If you weren't expecting it, hang up immediately and call the bank using the official number on their website, because it could be someone trying to use your card or access your online banking. If you did expect the call, the number shouldn't be surprising.
