Following an attempt to donate £3.50 to a charity, I received daily text messages stating that the payment could not be made due to insufficient funds. Unfortunately, these messages did not provide a means of response. Despite blocking the number, the texts persisted. I even sent a 'STOP' text, but to no avail. As a result, I have lost trust in this service, which is a shame given its purported charitable purpose.

Expert Opinion
Like a persistent street vendor, these unsolicited charity texts keep knocking on your mobile door. They often masquerade as noble causes, yet the hidden cost can be a premium‑rate charge that drains your balance. If you receive a message demanding a donation, do not reply or click any links; instead, block the number and report it to your network provider. Keep a record of any charges and check your statement for unexpected fees. When in doubt, verify the charity’s official contact details on their website before giving any money. Remember, legitimate charities will never ask for payment via a simple text reply.
