Unexpected Fraud Claims: What to Do?
Summary — +447397032700
Expert Opinion
Caution is essential with unsolicited calls like these, as they often aim to extract personal details. Reports indicate automated messages falsely claiming bank fraud or HMRC issues, prompting keypad presses to engage victims. Do not interact; simply hang up immediately. Block the number on your phone and report to Action Fraud via their website or 0300 123 2040. Enable call screening features if available, and verify any bank concerns directly through official channels. Sharing experiences helps identify patterns, but avoid returning calls. Protect your data by never disclosing info over unexpected calls—scammers thrive on urgency.

They played a recording claiming HMRC got important post back, urging me to press a keypad number. After hanging up, they rang again. I answered thinking it was a mate.
