Following a call from someone purporting to be from Scottish Widows, I've since verified with them and they've confirmed it's a scam, so beware of giving out any personnal details

Apparently, the caller claimed to be Peter Wilson, but his accent suggested he was from India or Pakistan, and he struggled to pronounce my name; when I questioned his identity, he ended the call abruptly.

Following an initial call two weeks ago, a man with an Asian accent has persisted in ringing, claiming to represent L&G and offering to upgrade my life insurance without additional cost, which initially seemed plausible given my existing policy with the company.

I have blocked this number to prevent further calls.

He refused to give his name and claimed to be from Scottish Widows. He’s been pestering me for weeks, always calling from ‭07414 423330‬, which isn’t linked to Scottish Widows. They make up reasons for using a mobile number. I told him to wait while I traced the call... and he hung up ;-)

The phone rang twice before being cut off

Received a call about life insurance from a man in Pakistan or India, using various Western names like John, Alex, and Chris. I’ve blocked the number after telling them off. My insurance company confirmed they only conduct annual checks and don’t initiate contact.

Similarly, I received a series of calls in September, including one from this number, which I've since blocked, and was told I could continue with my existing insurance policy

A recent attempted call resulted in a voicemail message lasting 57 seconds, featuring a chaotic Indian call centre and personal details of unsuspecting LVE customers, strongly suggesting a scam given I am not an LVE customer.
