Prestige Telecom scam calls – how to protect yourself!
Summary — +447488808130
Expert Opinion
Block the number straight away if you suspect fraud. Many callers posing as telecom providers like BT, EE or O2 use the name Prestige Telecom to push bogus upgrade deals. They often claim your contract is ending or that you’re eligible for savings, then demand personal details or a payment over the phone. Never share account information with unsolicited callers, and always verify the offer on the official provider’s website or by calling the legitimate customer service line. Enable call‑blocking features, register your number on the Do Not Call list, and report the incident to Action Fraud. Stay vigilant and keep your data safe.

A recorded message claimed an HMRC letter was returned and legal action would follow, urging me to press 1 for an officer. I stayed silent and the line dropped – a scam.
They said they were from BT and offered contract savings, assuming I was a business. They even quoted a number from a Facebook fundraiser I ran a decade ago. After I clarified I’m not a business and the event was ten years past, they apologized and hung up.
They claimed to represent Prestige for O2, saying I might qualify for savings because I’m listed as a business. When I asked for an online option, they insisted the deal required a phone call, which raised red flags. I asked them to call back in the new year and then blocked the number. Seeing others’ comments here, I’m relieved I did.
An impolite office lady claimed she was authorised by O2 to talk about my contract ending. When I asked how she obtained my number, she cut in with "Again, we’re XYZ company and have authorisation". I ended the call. Now I need to check my O2 agreement to see if I ever consented to third‑party contact, which I never have, and my phone blocks unknown callers.
An unknown number rang, then disconnected before I could pick up.
I'm tired of this phone‑contract scam that keeps switching numbers.
I received two separate extension numbers, identified the callers and blocked them both.
A bloke tried to push an upgrade on my phone contract.
Calls about telecom contracts turned out to be scammers.
The call disconnected before I could pick it up.
Looks like a scam from Prestige Telecom.
Calls from that and similar numbers are unfamiliar; my phone stays on ‘Do Not Disturb’ and only lets through contacts I’ve selected. When I notice an unknown caller, I investigate and block them if no voicemail is left.
The person claimed to be calling about my O2 contract. When I asked whether it was a courtesy upgrade call or an issue, he said he was from Prestige Telecom, so I hung up instantly and added the number to my block list. I’ll look up PT for scam reports.
Someone pretended to represent a phone company offering an O2 upgrade. Before I could refuse, the woman asked if I was self‑employed. I told her to email any proposals because I never settle deals over the phone. She said she’d update the system and then hung up. Definitely a scam—stay alert.
They told me my EE business line was under review.
They said they were from BT, and I hung up.
They pretended to represent Prestige regarding an EE mobile issue; clearly a scam.
I missed their call, called back, and was only met with some pleasant classical music.
Someone pretended to be from Amazon; when I asked why they were calling on Amazon’s behalf, they oddly hung up 😂.
