Openreach appointment texts – real or spoof?
Summary — +447786202608
Expert Opinion
Picture this: a text arrives claiming to be from Openreach, urging you to confirm a fibre broadband appointment. The message includes accurate details such as your postcode and scheduled slot, which can make it feel genuine. However, scammers often spoof numbers to harvest personal data or push unwanted upgrades. Always verify by contacting your provider through an official channel before replying or clicking any links. Keep records of the date, time and provider mentioned, and compare them with any recent service orders you have. If the request seems odd, ignore it or forward the SMS to the provider’s support line. Staying cautious reduces the risk of spoofing and unwanted charges.

Had I revealed their true identities from their "regular" lives or during their broadcasting careers on BBC1 radio or TV, you'd be utterly shocked... it’s beyond belief.
I think my family will just order the deal again for themselfs, they dont care about me and just want to get the better internet, they steal everything from me and dont even respect my privacy...
It appears that certain family members are taking advantage of benefits and manipulating the system for their own gain, using tactics such as playing the victim to achieve their goals.
A word of warning: be cautious of family members who may take advantage of you in the event of an accident, whether it was your fault or not, as they might use it for their own financial gain, like mine have done, leaving me feeling utterly betrayed.
My experience with this number was a scam, as they attempted to deceive me into believing they were a genuine company, but I've learned to always conduct business in person to avoid such scams
Even if it’s genuine, it makes me feel utterly hopeless. I’m already poor, lost my job due to COVID, and now unemployed. I’ve tried to stay connected with the outside world, hoping to find work through online job searches, but this is just another obstacle. It feels like standing before my own grave. My family has abused and mistreated me in every possible way, and I’ve lost all faith in God. This just adds to the despair.
Oh my goodness! You’ve been taken in by those? Look up SPOOFING NUMBERS... it’s quite alarming.
