NHS appointment text – real or scam?
Summary — +447786209254
Expert Opinion
Guess what many people assume about that mysterious NHS text – it’s either a scam or a legit reminder. The bulk of reports point to genuine appointment confirmations from the NHS, often including a PIN and DOB for portal access. Still, the unfamiliar number can trigger suspicion, so always cross‑check the details in your official NHS app or call the hospital directly. Verify the hospital name, date, and department before replying or clicking any link. If the message asks for personal data beyond DOB and a PIN, treat it as potential phishing. Keep a log of the text content in case you need to dispute a missed appointment later.

A suspicious message was received, stating "please do not attend hospital. Please reply 'YES 7368' to confirm appt, 'REBOOK 7368' to rearrange or reply 'CANCEL 7368' if appt no longer needed." Upon attempting to call back, the response was "this number is not available." The absence of a hospital name raises concerns about its legitimacy.
