Western Power Distribution calls – what you need to know!
Summary — +448000328302
Expert Opinion
Recent community feedback highlights a recurring pattern of calls from Western Power Distribution asking to confirm or update details for a vulnerable‑customer register. These calls typically reference priority assistance during power outages, especially for households with medical equipment. While most users report the interaction as safe, the number can be spoofed, so verify the caller’s ID by checking the official 0800 number on the provider’s website before sharing personal data. Keep a record of the call time, name of the operator and any reference numbers. If unsure, hang up and call back using the verified contact details. Vulnerable status updates are legitimate, but remain vigilant about priority service scams.

Called at 11pm, I didn't answer, but power was interrupted at 1am - would they not give a warning beforehand? It seems rather late to be contacting vulnerable individuals.

I'm uncertain about the legitimacy of this call, which is why I'm checking. A woman with an English accent claimed to be checking my vulnerability in the event of a power cut and requested my mobile number, which I declined to provide. While it may be genuine, I'm cautious.
