Is this Barclays scam? Spot the red flags!

I've learned to avoid answering unsolicited calls, especially those from 0800 numbers, after receiving a call from a similar number yesterday, and my answering machine cut off the message before it was finished.

They seem to be calling again on May 11th

A text message was received purporting to be from Barclays regarding overdraft spending, but given the lack of a follow-up letter and the nature of subsequent calls, it seems to be a case of scammers impersonating Barclays; it's advisable not to respond or call back

It's defenitly not Barclays, people who thinks it is will probabley lose their money.

A caller with a noticeable Indian accent and struggling to communicate in English attempted to extract my personal details for security checks, but I refused and the call was terminated abruptly

After contacting my bank, they confirmed this is a SCAM-SPOOF number. DO NOT SHARE ANY PERSONAL DETAILS!

Barclays has confirmed that 0800 161 5248 is a scam, so it's crucial not to provide any information and to hang up immediately.

Missed calls were made to me yesterday and today while I was attending a meeting, which I suspect could be a scam attempt

They claimed to represent Barclays and inquired about my birth date and my mother's maiden name.

Its a clever scam, they call me and say they are from barclays, but they need my card details, I check with barclays and they say its not them

What a joke, they claimed to be from Barclays and requested sensetive info like my date of birth and my mothers maiden name, when I provided fake details they said I didnt pass ther security check...lol

Fraudsters posing as Barclays, directing to a hijacked website and a premium number to resolve an account issue. Clearly a scam.

I received a missed call from this number on Christmas Eve, and when they called again today, the line went dead upon answering. Although it's displayed as an 0800 number, I suspect it might be part of a new scam where returning the call could incur high charges.

A lady called, claiming to be from Barclays, asking if I could answer a few questions regarding my personal information. I expressed my discomfort, and she suggested that I call back on any Barclays number. After hanging up, I decided to contact a legitimate Barclays number out of curiosity. A representative confirmed it was indeed a scam, as the only recent contact had been my call. Her advice was to always hang up and dial a known legitimate number if you suspect it’s your bank reaching out to you, to avoid sharing personal information with a scammer.

A call was made pretending to be from Barclays, although I do not bank with them.
