To avoid potencial scams, I requested that the caller send a notifcation through the app rather than email, the caller agreed and provided their name, I then logged into my PayPal app and found a message stating that an email would be sent to confirm the contact, I had only provided my name and email adress, the caller then confirmed my details, including credit payments and adress, it seemed legitamate, however.
This is a scam, i rang Paypal afterwards, and they said it wasnt them, the scammer sent me an email and notification on the Paypal app, trying to convince me it was them

I had a delayed payment with Paypal, they rang me to inform me, the guy asked me to confirm my email adress, but i was unsure, so he sent me an email to prove his credentials, once i confirmed, he said i had missed a payment
A caller with an Indian accent from this 0800 number asked me to confirm my email address, which I didn’t do. Since PayPal has no reason to call my landline, I asked for proof, and they couldn’t verify my PayPal details. It’s a scam! Do not trust them. Hang up and report
Confirmed as a scam after I contacted PayPal directly; they assured me no calls were made from their end and they only contact via the number linked to the account, which wasn’t used.
Usualy, the calls from this number are about a missed payment, and they claim to be from PayPal.
