Expert Opinion
It seems that +44800443311 is a number being used by scammers to impersonate BT. Users have reported receiving texts, calls, and even letters demanding payment for non-existent bills or threatening disconnection. The scammers often use realistic BT branding and language, making the scams quite convincing. However, BT has confirmed that these communications are fraudulent and advised customers to ignore them. If you receive such a call or message, do not provide any personal information or make payments. Instead, contact BT directly using the number on your official paperwork or the BT website. Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to BT and the relevant authorities.

A call was received from 01527 453799, claiming to be from BT and requesting immediate contact on 0800443321 to discuss Direct Debit matters, but as BT is no longer my service provider and my accounts are up to date, I have cancelled my payments and consider the call to be a scam based on the comments regarding 0800443321.
My elderly father has been receiving constant calls from people pretending to be BT. They’re not genuine. They even sent a fake bill that looks similar to a real BT bill, but the logo is on the top right instead of the left, and the colours aren’t quite right. The logo is also bigger. BT confirmed it’s a scam. When they realise they’ve been caught out, they hang up quickly. I’ve advised my father to deal with them and not engage.
The individual dialling from 0800 285085 insisted on speaking to me without disclosing their company. When questioned, they alleged they were from BT discussing my account. Given my account is in order and a recent issue was resolved, I refused to verify my identity and declined their request to speak with the account holder. They suggested the account holder contact BT using 0800 443311. However, upon checking with BT's main customer service, I learned neither number is associated with BT. ##Therefore, communications from (and requests to call) these numbers are clearly fraudulent##
A suspicious text message was received from a generic sender, directing me to contact BT via their website or a provided phone number, however, BT's online chat support confirmed it was a scam.
