Hva skjuler seg bak Amazon-anropet?

Details of my Amazon account were nearly divulged.

FAKE AMAZON HELPLINE Number taken from a website page (probably a forum but I was stressed and tired and thought I had got it from one of the many open Amazon tabs). Called it and was asked by a recorded voice to type in a three digit code. Then got through to a human FAR too quickly! I didn’t give any personal details but spent a LONG time on the ‘phone supposedly getting advice, so I suspect that I’ll be getting a whopping bill next month. We can all become vulnerable on a very bad day - beware!

This seems to be related to Amazon, concerning sign-in issues. They mentioned 'our customer service associates...' and instructed me to 'press..... on your phone'. The number was listed on the Amazon website while I was experiencing login difficulties. Codes sent to my phone and email have not been working. It's all rather strange. I won't be pressing anything. Stay vigilant, everyone, and keep an eye on your bank accounts; it might be an international threat. Currently, Amazon indicates deliveries to Carmarthen SA31, which also happens to be the police station. Essentially, Amazon is off-limits for security reasons. I merely intended to provide feedback regarding a short and damaged delivery of garden compost.

It appears to be an Amazon accounts attack; initially, I received a text with a password reset code before requesting one, which seemed suspicious, so I searched for amazon.co.uk and used a link from a genuine email to access my account securely

This caller claimed to be contacting me about a potential job opportunity.

Need help with this number

After my device got a virus and I lost access to my Amazon account, I contacted this number. The person I spoke to had poor English and struggled to understand the email address I provided. After three attempts, they claimed it didn't exist and hung up. If this is genuinely Amazon's customer service, it's alarming. I felt compelled to contact my bank and cancel the card linked to my account. Terrible customer service experience.
