Santander scam calls – how to protect yourself!
Summary — +448082800767
Expert Opinion
Caution advised: this number is widely reported as a scam that pretends to be Santander’s fraud department. Callers often cite recent card transactions, request a three‑digit PIN or a Y/N reply, and use automated prompts to harvest personal details. The safest approach is to verify any request by contacting Santander on the official number printed on your card or on their website, never by returning a text or dialing the suspicious line. Block the caller on your handset and report the number to your mobile provider’s spam‑filter service. Keep records of the message and share them with the bank’s fraud team.

Very clever are these text messages pretending to be from your bank’s fraud department, but what’s more alarming is they mention the last four digits of my bank card. My bank would have immediately stopped my card if they suspected fraud.

Apparently, the phone number 08082800767 has been utilised in a scam text message, allegedly originating from Santander, which claimed that a couple of transactions had been declined, and I was instructed to respond with Y or N, or alternatively, contact the provided number; however, I had recieved a similiar message previosly and verified with Santander that it was indeed a scam, so I advise against replying to the text or contacting the number.
