I received a call but didn't answer as it was unknown. After they stopped, I checked online and read the comments here. I've now blocked the number. It's best not to answer unknown numbers as it confirms your phone is active, leading to more calls, possibly scams.

It's a market survey company using this frustrating technology, which reputable companies like Tesco and Carphone Warehouse shouldn't use. Yet they do, resulting in those two-ring hang-up calls - great technology but terrible customer experience.
