What those complaining about having NIX don't seem to grasp, probably due to blind faith in NIX as a solution to all problems, is that NIX actually permits companies to call for market research purposes, among other exceptions. So, stop ranting about NIX in this case. You have a phone, learn to live with the fact that it will ring!
