Je viens de recevoir un appel d'un homme avec un accent inconnu qui m'a donné mon code postal et mon adresse IP, en me disant que mon IP avait été piratée et utilisée de manière frauduleuse, mais je lui ai dit d'arrêter de harceler les gens honnêtes et de trouver un vrai métier, après quoi il a raccroché, ce qui est vraiment inquiétant, surtout s'ils appellent des personnes âgées ou vulnérables.

Acabo de recibir una llamada del 00501 de un hombre con acento desconocido que me informó mi código postal y dirección IP. Afirmó que mi IP había sido hackeada y usada fraudulentamente. Le dije que dejara de molestar a personas decentes y que encontrara una verdadera profesión; colgó. Resulta preocupante que llamen a ancianos o vulnerables. ¡Qué individuos tan despreciables!

My mother, who has mild cognitive imparement, was targeted by these scammers, they convinved her to buy a paypoint cash voucher for £100, which they immediatly cashed
Our mother, who suffers mild cognitive impairment, was contacted by these callers. The gentleman said they could see from her account that she had a loan with Natwest and she had been awarded a PPI payment of £2,000.50. However, she needed to buy a PayPoint cash voucher for £100 as proof before their solicitor could deliver the money the next day. They told her which newsagent to buy this from and she went and did so. They then called her back for the voucher number which she gave them. When I returned from work I explained to her that this was probably a scam and tried to cancel the voucher. Unfortunately they had cashed it immediately. I spoke to the fraud office who took all the details, however they said they would call again and attempt to get more money. I told my mother to have them call me immediately if they did. Sure enough at 09:00 this morning they called her and then they called me. They said she needed to pay tax on her PPI payment upfront and would need to get a further £300 in vouchers before the solicitor could deliver the money. I confronted the Asian male caller about this being a scam and he assured me it was not, but moments later the phone went dead. The number was 00501 and he said he was from Claims Direct. Please beware!

Upon receiving their call, I was informed that my internet service with BT was at risk of being disconnected within a 24-hour timeframe unless I settled the supposed outstanding balance. However, I clarified that I am actually a Virgin Media customer, which led to an immediate hang-up.
A caller claimed my BT internet would be cut within 24 hours unless I paid, which is absurd since I'm with Virgin Media; I hung up immediately
