Someone claimed to be from American Express, couldn't explain why they called because of privacy, and immediately requested ID verification. After providing my full name, I asked for a callback number; they said they'd email details, which I later received and appeared legitimate. While not spam, a one‑time PIN via an app would make such calls feel safer.
