I returned the call with a blocked ID; he said it concerned a previous Commonwealth Bank problem. He couldn't explain why the bank hadn't contacted me directly and tried to verify my identity by requesting my full name, date of birth, and email. I asked him to email the details, which he promised within 30 minutes, but no email arrived and I haven't heard back. It's suspicious that he had my old work number and name.

He then asked whether I could provide anyone closer to that person. I replied that, without knowing who he was, where he was calling from, or his purpose, I would not share any information. Afterwards, he texted me a landline number to call, and the message originated from .
Zain called, recognized my name and asked if I knew a Facebook friend, saying he needed urgent info and would text the details; I suspect a scam because he said he got my data from a private database, so I've reported it to Telstra and Crimestopper.
