This number was blocked by my call blocker, and I've read that 888 is not a legitimate exchange

I recently received a call from that number, but I never answer calls from unknown numbers, as all my contacts are saved with picture IDs.
The caller requested a $20 donation, which I declined, and they were calling from a specific number.
I recieved a call around 8:15 AM, but I dont answer calls with no name or information, my Hiya app indicated it was 'suspected spam', so I blocked it, Hiya has blocked over 500 numbers for me.

I recieved a call from Daytona Beach, FL, and I dont know anyone from that place, so I didnt answer, but now I know they are scammers thanks to these comments

The scam caller claimd to be from a veterans asociation, which I dont beleive.
Knowing my name dont mean it is from a Veteran's Association, thats whats they think
