Legal paper scam calls—how to protect yourself!

Expert Opinion
Picture this: a stranger calls, claims they need to serve you legal papers, demands you call an 888 number, and threatens to show up at work. The pattern matches a widespread process‑serving scam that harvests personal data and extracts money. Never confirm personal details or pay fees before verifying the agency through official court channels. Hang up, add the number to your call‑blocking list, and file a complaint with the FTC, your state attorney general, or the FCC. Keep a log of dates, times, and any reference numbers to aid investigations.
