Scam warning: fake Bank of America calls on the rise

I received messages from this individual, who took $100 from me today.

The caller, claiming to be from Bank of America, seemed suspicious when asking for confirmation and used an incorrect name, before insulting me and hanging up

I was talking to some guy named corey who wanted me to pay 15$ to recieve a large amount of money, he claimed his wife just died and he just wanted somone to talk to, seemed legit at first but then he asked me to send a payment to get a payment on cashapp, i knew it was a scam, so i called him out on it and he gave me this number

I informed them I hadn't made any suspicious transactions, prompting them to ask about other accounts. When I mentioned having accounts with a different bank, they insisted on knowing the details to allegedly protect them from fraud. I questioned the relevance of this information, and they maintained that my info was being used to make fake charges. At this point, I ended the call, as the whole situation seemed suspiciously realistic, especially since they used Bank of America's actual phone number.

Beware, as this number, which appears to belong to BoA, has been compromised by scammers attempting to obtain personal information, so it's essential to be cautious and verify the caller's identity.
