This call was a clear scam, as the number did not belong to the bank they claimed to represent, and the card they mentioned had been deactivated over a year ago.

Expertenmeinung

There is suspicious activity linked to this number.
A call claimed to be from my bank, warning about a fraudulent charge. I selected the option that I didn’t make the charge, then a live agent asked for my name, account number, and more. I gave my name but told them the questioning was excessive for a bank that should already have my info and hung up. I suspect they used a real charge to lure me, stole my card number, and tried to collect personal data. Fortunately, I had already called the bank and hot‑carded the card. I now always verify any such calls by contacting my bank directly and confirming any email sender with the actual company.
