Expert Opinion
It’s surprising how many people receive the exact same “legal notice” from a number that claims to be a process server. Most of these calls repeat a bogus case number, use a fake name like Amelia, and pressure you to call a toll‑free line for a quick “resolution.” Never call back or provide personal info; real process servers deliver papers in person, not over the phone. Hang up, block the number, and report it to your carrier or the FTC. If you’re unsure, contact the court directly using contact details from an official website. Staying skeptical and verifying independently are your best defenses against this scam.

A similar message was received, containing a different case number, and despite having no relevant issues, concern was raised, especially after the caller contacted a family member.
It is peculiar that I received the same message with the same reference number, and the caller also managed to obtain my mother's phone number.
I got the same call today, it was really annoying
Everybody does lol
I have received repeated calls from this number with the same message, case file number, and people, which is harassment.
The sender of these messages is flooding random acquaintances with threaded messages, a tactic that's both annoying and suspicious.
The caller claims to have received a fax document or complaint, stating that a legal matter is pending and that urgent action is required. They pose as a 'process server' who cannot disclose the details of the case, as the file is allegedly sealed. This is a ruse to obtain money, often by providing a fake case number and claiming to be a lawyer. They threaten to serve papers at home or work, demanding two forms of ID and attempting to create a sense of panic. However, this is entirely false, as process servers do not call ahead and are solely paid to serve papers.
It's unfortunate that they fall prey to this.
It is amusing that they left messages with the same fictitious case number on my phone. I have reported this to the Attorney General's office and blocked the number. It is surprising that people fall for such scams.
Funny thing is, I have the same file number too lol
