Why scammers spoof Scotiabank numbers and how to stop them!

This number has called me twice in the last 2 days, it's identifing itself as Scotiabank, but I've checked their numbers and it's not one of them, it's defenitly a scam.

Since December, numerous calls have been received from this number, displaying as SCOTIABANK, but the calls are always followed by silence and eventual hang-up, indicating a potential scam; as a result, the number will be blocked.

My phone automatically rejected the call, labeling it as suspected spam, which seemed odd given that it was from a bank on a Saturday at 3:11 pm.

Around 7:00 in the evening, I recieved a call asking to speak with my husband, which seemed suspicous to me, especaily since Scotia Bank has never contacted us at such a late hour, I'm absolutly fed up with these fake caller's and scammer's.

Scammers seem to have resumed their activities in 2022, employing a familiar hoax; despite being a Scotia bank customer, the recorded message from the call is identical to theirs, yet the call was made to my cell phone, a number the bank does not possess.

This number is a scam, requesting personal details such as postal code and name.

Pretending to represent scotiabank, this caller is actually a fraudster

For alot of time, this scam have been ongoing. Something must be done...

It's cleary a scam, i had just renewed my morgage and asked my advisor to stop these calls, he informed me it wasnt them and took me off the call list, yet i've recived 3 more robo calls since then

A suspicious text message was received from this number, which failed to identify itself as Scotiabank, instead sending a vague message.

It's possible this phone number is collaborating with someone inside Scotiabank, as they contact individuals with claims about their accounts.

Although the caller ID displayed Scotiabank, there was no one on the line when I answered, indicating a potential scam.

A male with very little english called me at 630 pm, telling me my mortgage is overlapping and to save time he can upgrade information and get everything ready for renewal

Following a voicemail claiming to be from Scotiabank, requesting my husband to return the call, I contacted the number and was transferred to an advisor, which seemed unusual given my own employment with Scotia, but after reviewing the comments here, I suspect it might be legitimate due to our mortgage renewal being due within the 6-month window, possibly from their special mortgage renewal department, prompting me to plan a branch visit for renewal.

At 8:45 pm, I received a call from a number claiming to be Scotiabank, stating my mortgage was due for renewal. The caller asked security questions and informed me the call would be recorded, requesting my postal code and address.
