Debt Collector Calls From—How to Protect Yourself

Expert Opinion
Watch out for repeated calls from this number—it’s certainly a debt‑collection operation. Callers identify only as Credit Adjustments, Inc., and they rely on vague voicemails that press you to call back. Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act you have the right to request written validation of any alleged debt and to tell the agency to cease contact. Keep a log of dates, times, and what was said; block the number on your phone; and file complaints with the FTC, your state Attorney General, or the Better Business Bureau. If you’re unsure the debt is yours, do not share personal information until you receive proper documentation.
