AVC Travel prize scam exposed – what to do!

Expert Opinion
Block the number 1‑888‑261‑2595 as soon as you see it, because it’s tied to a widespread prize‑offer scam. The letters use high‑value items—Mercedes, BMW, cruise vouchers—to lure recipients into scheduling appointments that lead to pressure telemarketer sales. Never give personal or payment info to callers who demand immediate action; instead verify the company through official channels or the Better Business Bureau. Report the unwanted calls to the FCC and your carrier, and forward the fraudulent letter to the Postal Inspection Service. Using call‑blocking apps and a spam filter can also stop repeat attempts.

Thankfully, after reviewing your comments, I decided not to attend the appointment, realizing it was a scam. The convincing boarding voucher they provided was almost believable, so I appreciate your posts, which helped me avoid this trap.

I received junk mail containing this phone number, claiming I had won a prize from AVC Vacations.
The purpose of this phone number appears to be associated with deceptive marketing tactics, claiming false winnings such as a Mercedes or a $25 gift certificate, with the intention of enticing individuals into their scheme. It's crucial to be cautious of such narratives.
