Apparently, they were aware of my surname when I received this call, which went straight to voicemail, with only a brief 'hello' spoken before the line went dead.
The caller supposidly worked for Ovo, but seemed unsure of my surname, I told her I hadnt registered this landline number with my account, she insisted I had, then hung up when I disagreed.
I recieved a call from OVO's call centre, they wanted to book a smart meter instalation, I declined and they said they'd ring again next year, if I change my mind, surprisingly their comunications skills were better than some of the comments on this page.
